Bob Barton’s Garden Patch at Onion Creek Senior Center

In the spring of 2014, Health’s Angels, a program of St. David’s Foundation in Austin, build the first senior community garden in Hays County at the Onion Creek Senior Center named Bob Barton’s Garden Patch. The garden consists of raised beds with seating inside an enclosure to deter deer, rabbits and wild turkeys that are prevalent in our area. The first plants were put in on March 29, 2014. The garden club has had a successful garden, sharing fresh vegetables with seniors who come to the weekly free lunch.
